Art as conversation vs. Art as competition

Dare-Zine's first ever art residency programme explored the above topic within a group of 10: eight artists from around the world, and our team. The location was the picturesque city of Veliko Tarnovo, and our creative hub was TaM: a cultural home which ignites the spark for artistry and collaboration in the heart of Bulgaria.

For the duration of five days, the participants exchanged ideas, debated, communicated and connected within a friendly and supportive environment. Their final reflections were presented in various shapes and forms, from drawings, through poems, to site-specific and video art, the sum of which became the core for Dare-Zine's seventh issue.

The results of the residency - the diverse artworks - were showcased at a pop-up exhibition at the end of the programme at TaM. They are also included in issue VII of the magazine. During the residency days, we were also fortunate to host an artist talk with one of our residents, Rekha Sameer, on site-specific art.  You can virtually immerse yourself in the atmosphere we shared through the gallery below, and can also learn more about each of our art residents at the end of the page.
